Shocking Statement

One of my opponents, Alan Ward, is running in the Republican Party primary on a platform of raising revenue for government! Here is what he said in the Messenger Index. "I intend to lead Idaho in considering all forms of revenue generation aside from raising property taxes to fund programs."

His main focus, from this statement, is empowering government by taking more revenue from the private sector and transferring it to government.

I have a problem with this approach to stimulate the economy. First of all, government does not pay taxes. It only consumes wealth. Second, the private sector pays taxes and creates wealth. The health and vitality of the private sector should be our focus. If the private sector is growing and thriving, then tax revenues will naturally come. I believe the focus must first be upon the health of the private sector, and secondly, upon the health of the government.

It seems, as indicated, by the above quote that Mr. Ward is more focused upon the health of government, and secondly, on the health of the private sector.

Thought you should know.
